Professional Support

Marlborough Museum is a member of Museums Aotearoa, and part of an active network of New Zealand museums.

 

In 2006 Marlborough Museum received considerable support from the National Preservation Office, based at the National Library in Wellington.

 

In addition we received advice and collection care guidance from Paula Haines-Bellamy of The Nelson Provincial Museum. Paula is an expert in the care of textile collections.

 

The Museum also maintains active links with Te Papa, Archives New Zealand, the Alexander Turnbull Library, as well as Auckland War Memorial Museum, and Canterbury Museum.

 

Marlborough Museum works in collaboration with professional archaeologists and the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.
